Soulful Self Study: A Tarot + Yoga Experience 05.04

Mar 26, 2025

Sunday, May 4th | 10:00 am – 12:30 pm

Tarot as a tool for Svadhyaya, or self-study

Join Zoe for a two hour workshop that blends the ancient art of Tarot cards with the practice of Yoga. In the first 75 minutes, we’ll explore the basics of how to read and understand Tarot cards, by diving into the structure of the deck and possible ways to interpret the cards. We’ll discuss how to activate your third eye chakra and intuition, and how to use Tarot to explore svadhyaha, or self-study. Svadhyaya is one of the five niyamas, or inner observances as part of the 8 limb path in yoga. Tarot can be a great tool for self-reflection and anyone can learn it!

Followed by a 30 minute break, the remaining 45 minutes we’ll take what we learn into our asana practice with a Tarot-themed yoga flow. This flow will invite you to embody the energy of the cards, self-reflect, and enhance your understanding and appreciation of both Tarot and yoga.

Zoe will be offering a limited amount of Tarot readings before and after the workshop, as well as during the 30 minute break.  You must sign up for a timeslot ahead of time and payment will be collected at the time of the reading.  Readings are $25, book your time slot HERE

Who should attend?

This workshop is open to everyone, regardless of experience level. We recommend this workshop to any individual looking to explore and expand their knowledge of the  deeper elements of a yoga practice, and to learn new tools to engage with self-reflection and the practice of Svadhyaya.

What the Expect:

  • Gain thorough understanding of deck structure: Learn about the differences between the major and minor arcana and gain insight on iconic cards within the deck (who isn’t intrigued by the Death card???)

  • Explanation of the four suits, numerology of the cards, and the court cards

  • Explanation of intuition: What is it and how is it used in divination/psychic readings? Explore ways to harness your own intuition and to activate your third-eye chakra.

  • Offer insight for how Tarot can help you explore your yoga practice through svadhyaya or self-reflection and deepen your connection to Self, including practical tools and resources to cultivate your own practice with the cards

  • 30-minute break

  • Yoga Practice: Enjoy a [45]-minute yoga class inspired by a Tarot card pull. This flow will invite you to embody the energy of the cards, enhancing your understanding and appreciation of both Tarot and yoga.

  • Yoga mat
  • Journal + pen
  • Water bottle
  • An open mind + willingness to learn

Zoe Lowden

Zoe’s passion for movement has been a lifelong pursuit, starting with dance at the age of three and continuing through her college years. However, after a series of impactful life events, she felt drawn to a different path within movement—one focused on healing and inspiring others.

She started taking her yoga practice seriously in 2020, jumping in right away to pursue her 200hr certification. She immediately gravitated toward yogic philosophy & principles, as well as psychic readings. When Zoe is not teaching, you can find her giving Tarot readings at events around the city.

Her guiding belief is that love is the universal language, which she infuses into her classes. Zoe believes yoga should be inclusive and taught with humility and grace. Her teaching style prioritizes rest and introspection, offering a slower-paced approach to foster a deeper connection with oneself, with a bit of humor and light-hearted energy.
