“Balance is not something you find, it’s something you create.”
– Jana Kingsford
Equilibirum // a state in which opposing forces or influences are balanced; a state of physical balance; a calm state of mind
It’s July! It’s hot, it’s energizing, it’s invigortating! It’s natural to want to take full advantage of this summer season of heat and light. But burning to brightly can cause also cause burn out. Our Yoga practice provides us the tools to balance our energies, rather than finding ourselves like a candle burning at both ends.
Summer is a season to activate and work towards our dreams, but we don’t have to do it all at once.
– As much as we take action, we can also give permission to find rest.
– As much as we look to community for socialization, we are also reminded to turn to self-reflection.
Part of this equilibrium is recognizing that balance is unique to each of us, and it is not always symmetrical. What does balance look like for you?
In this episode, Marta and Zoe discuss equilibrium and it’s relationship to our Yoga practice, both on the mat and outside of the studio.
- Consider how to balance effort and ease in your postures
- Learn about this month’s full moon and it’s relationship to balance
- Consider how balance fits into your life
