Audra’s yoga journey started as a college student studying chemistry. She dabbled in yoga as a way to manage the stresses of academic life. However, it wasn’t until graduating from graduate school in 2012 that she began a yoga practice in earnest.
In 2014, Audra was diagnosed with Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (HSD), a condition that manifests as connective tissue laxity and joint instability. This revelation deepened her commitment to yoga, using it not just for stress relief but also as a means to increase body awareness and maintain joint integrity.
Her dedication led her to complete a 200-hour yoga teacher training at Practice Indie Yoga in 2021, studying under Purvi Lippincott, Staraya McKinstry, and Shannon Brasovan. Equipped with this knowledge and passion, Audra embarked on her teaching journey at Myriad Yoga shortly after graduation.
Audra’s classes are anything but ordinary. Infused with her quirky and unexpected style, she invites students to explore the fascinating capabilities of their bodies. Based on her own lived experience with HSD, she imparts to her students that each day is a new day and listening to what their body needs is the most important yoga lesson of all. Expect to laugh, learn, and discover new aspects of yourself each time you step into one of Audra’s classes.
